Internship DescriptionRole Summary/Purpose: Intern- Works on real business problem for the purpose of learning in the industrial setting, supplementing curricular requirements. Essential Responsibilities: (a) Define problem. Using exploratory analysis (b) Identify potential sources of data, prepare data sets and develop contingency plans where data is not available (identify surrogates) (c) Establish performance characteristics (d) Develop multiple models and choose best model based on performance characteristics and ease of use (e) Influence users in adoption and take them through the process of experimentation and continuous improvement – change management (f) Work very closely with various team – functional team, data management team, IT team, research teams and software coe (g) Build tool and move to production Qualifications/Requirements: Engineering Degree or pusuing the same in IT, Electronics, relevant streams. Strong Influencing and Communication skills. Strong on Change Management skills. Desired Characteristics: Combination of technical & business degrees and/or experience, and ability to translate strategic direction into tactical deliverables and plans. 1.Curious and self-motivated learner, with a fast-learning curve to acquire specialized domain expertise. 2.Passionate about driving change and influence across enterprise. 3. Proficiency in advanced analytical / statistical techniques (predictive modeling, logistic regression, decision trees, data mining methods, forecasting, neural networks and other advanced statistical and econometric techniques). 4.Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment. 5.Strong problem solving and logical skills communicate deep analytical results in forms that resonate with scientific and/or business collaborators, highlighting actionable insights. #DTR: 1.Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate actionable insights with business leadership. 2.Entrepreneurial inclination to discover novel opportunities for applying analytical techniques to business/scientific problems across the company.
